Mike Lockwood was the tech assigned for my repair issues. The company was good with notifications by email and text and so was Mike. I received a text when he was about 30 minutes out and he also described himself as well and sent a picture to positively ID Who the company tech representative was.Mike was very knowledgeable, personable, friendly and capable regarding Chamberlain Garage door openers and other door and opener issues. he made several calls when he was unable to resolve my opener learning the codes on my keypad or remotes. Mike made several contacts for a secondary source of information two other technicians, which impressed me.The consolidated opinion was that the circuit board had malfunctioned and needed a replacement. my Mike then gave me the phone number to contact regarding ordering a new circuit board which I accomplished on Monday the day following his arrival on Sunday. The tech and the phone advise. They would send me a new circuit board even though it was not covered by warranty. Scheduling was very easy and they were able to get us on the schedule within 3 days (our issue was non-emergency). Mike got to our home promptly within the time frame given. My husband was home to let him in. Options were given for varying level of springs that needed to be replaced.The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the overall cost. Significantly more than we anticipated! Not Mike's fault....just the way things are these days. I did not do a lot of shopping around do to the need to get it fixed.

Joseph the service rep was very polite and professional. He diagnosed the issues with my garage door explained the cost of a new door then the possible fixes without a new door. We discussed the other options rather then a new door and came up with a solution that should give me a couple years maybe more before replacing new. He was quick in his repairs and made to explain what he did and how it benefits the operation of the existing door . Very pleased with Joseph, his work and professionalism!

I called after our garage door opener ripped off the wall. I was given an appointment 4 days later. The technician that came out was great. He explained everything. Jesse and Malcolm both were very professional. Being the sales and service all in one; an after thought. I thought it was a little pricy for a new roller. However, my door is very old and heavy and Jesse really knew what he was doing. I feel safer in my garage; I had old springs before that no one wanted to replace because of the danger.. Early in the morning my garage spring snapped and I found A1 Garage Door Service, which was a highly rated local company, through a quick Google search. Their website made it easy to schedule an appointment and Jesse came out between the scheduled time. He updated me on his arrival time once he was closer to coming by calling and sending a quick text. Once he was here, he went over the damage parts, and explained to me two different ways to resolve the issue. Called on a Sunday afternoon, live receptionist answered and had a technician to my house by 8:15 Monday morning. Within minutes Joe determined that the gears internal to my 90's model door opener were stripped. Like a true magician, he pulled the exact parts from his van. The only thing that I didn't like was I was not told that if I didn't have the work done that day that I would be charged a $39 fee and that that amount would not be taken off of my bill when I did have the work done. Joe our technician was great. He diagnosed the problem, which was a blown fuse in the unit quickly and efficiently. Now, instead of having to buy a brand new door opener, a simple fuse switch will solve the problem. Connor came out on a Sunday, traveling 200 miles each way, filling in for a colleague who was ill. Connor was a total pro and walked me through step-by-step step what desperately needed replacing. Rusty came out to repair our garage door over the weekend. A spring had broken and he walked us through the various options to replace the springs. He offered a few different units at different price points with differing warranties ranging from 2 years to 5 years to lifetime. We presented options depending on where we wanted to be price-wise.He promptly got the springs replaced and then did a complete review of our door noting that the rollers were plastic. We upgraded to stainless steel ball bearing rollers that will last much longer. Rusty then adjusted the chain on our garage door opener and made a few other tweaks, greased all of the hinges, and we were back in business in about an hour. Also, kudos to A1 for calling us with a cancellation to see if they could swing by earlier. We ended up getting our door fixed a full day sooner than we expected! Thanks to A1 and Rusty for a job well done!

Prior to A1, I had another company come out and quote me an over-the-top fee of $2K for repairs with a few extras stuffed in there for good measure. Brandon provided exceptional service on a project that had, until this point, been an absolute disaster. Lowes contracted a bargain basement company, "Handy" to install the opener I had ordered from them. The tech from Handy left my door damaged and unusable.Brandon, on the other hand, was fully prepared and obviously knowledgeable. He was able to address the issues in detail. I needed a garage door. There was a 3 to 4 month wait everywhere including big box stores. I only needed the most inexpensive and common door, but there were none to be found. A difficult problem to diagnose, took some time and involved ultimately replacing some expensive hardware. However, it made sense to replace the hardware given the overall extended longevity of the overall door and it's long term operation. Luke was incredibly thorough and very knowledgeable about so many aspects of proper garage door operation. Our garage door was inoperable. We looked in the Shopper and came across A1 Garage Door Company. We had seen their ad several times before. Fortunately, they were able to come over that afternoon. A very pleasant employee by the name of Riley showed up on time at our home. He took apart our old garage door opener and found the problem. After discussing our options, we decided to replace the old one with an updated new one as ours was 20 years old. Riley was able to give us 3 options. Having had many bad experiences with another garage door company (Overhead Doors), I decided to give A1 Garage door services a try.I was pleasantly surprised.Their communication was outstanding, and they got here the very next day for a barn door opener repair that I have been having issues with.Again, installed by Overhead doors and repaired by them 3 separate times and it still does not work right.So, I called in the A1 team and got rid of the "F" team.The technician contacted me by phone this morning telling me what time he would arrive, and he actually showed up on time. Imagine that someone that shows up when they say they will.I explained the issues I was having with Dylan; he diagnosed the problems and we decided to replace the whole roll up door unit which was a lift master 8500.We are going with a newer version that will work off your phone, called a 98022 which I ordered from Amazon and will be here Sunday.The Technician, Dylan will be back Tuesday to install it.It just does not get any better than these folks.This is what service is all about.In touch, on time and they do not try and take my wallet with them.Good price, good people. I highly recommend them for your overhead door needs.
